1877 AD,
7:00 PM, The day after Justin’s first arrival to this year.

He’s in a richly decorated room. As he opens the window he thinks, “Well! I’m here, just as Lucius Faust said. The skies are darkening outside and once again they’re a funny color. This time dark purple? They were normal last time I was here. Soon the moon will be up and Virgil Salvage’s crew will attack. Of course thanks to my visits to the past couple of time lines he won’t have anyone to do his dirty work for him.”
Justin hears voices coming down the hall outside. He peeks out through the door, amazed at what he sees.
Phineas Quimby and Justin himself are talking in the League of Improbable Gentlemen’s mansion library.
Justin can’t get over how weird it is to be looking at himself. It’s one thing to see you’re self in a mirror or Holo-Vid. The first is a mirror duplicate reflection that moves when you move. The later is a recorded image shown later.
This was different. The other Justin has his moves, his gate, his voice, but in a way it was like looking at someone else. Yet it was him and he knew if his younger self saw him (an event he has no memory of) it should change everything. Shouldn’t it? Would his memory instantly update? Would he create an alternate timeline? No one besides Quimby and another fellow he mentioned has ever time traveled before him and Quimby never said what would happen. Justin doubted if Quimby even knew.
All Justin knew was that he held the Plot Accelerator in his hands and soon a very evil man would arrive to get it back.
Justin listens in to their conversation;
“Excellent!” Quimby states like a boy who just found an unwrapped Christmas present.
“What?” the younger Justin asks apprehensively.
“Oh! Nothing bad, I assure you! It’s just that I’ve been tinkering with the notes and my inventions. I believe I have a device that can home in on a particular time, right to the minute. Would you like to experiment with it and tell me if it works?”
“Well! I never expected this. Ok. I’ll give it a try. Let me see it.”
Justin (our Justin in the hall) looks at his timer and thinks, “That’s right! I’ve been so busy I actually forgot for a moment. After I give this device to the League I can finally go home!”
A firm hand grabs Justin’s shoulder and turns him around. He physically jumps.
He then realizes he’s looking directly into the face of Hastings Vernal, the man who sent him on this adventure!
“You’re back. Good. We’d better stash you away before things get messy. Salvage and his associates are almost here.”
“Associates? But I took care of everyone! I have the Plot Accelerator. Who else is there to..?”
“The Z'Socks. He’s bringing them here tonight!”
“Oh boy.”

Tyme Travels #14, Part 4, the conclusion of the Plot Accelerator Saga. Have We Done This Before? #4 pre-Crisis stories.

The Professor Justin Tyme Institute For Higher Learning and Chronal Studies in New Paradopolis, 3205 AD.
“Von R Harper! What’s taking so long?”
The young scientist snaps his head towards his boss, the Legionnaire Visionary 5 and responds, “Sorry Vish, I’ve been studying these chrono waves..”
“I know all about the Chrono waves! I want to know about Justin Tyme! Have you established a lock on his Chrono Displacement Device? Can we bring him here?”
“Hold on… he’s jumps to another later year.. but the interference is so strong!”
“Push through it!”
“Pushing Vishy, pushing!”
“Don’t call me that!”
Von mumbles under his breath, “Chameleon Dragon sure was right about him!”
“What?”
“I said..” there’s a loud PING! “That we have a lock! We’ve got him! The Chronal Getchagotchanow has a lock on his coordinates!”
“Bring him in then!”

1877 AD, Lair Island, the mansion HQ of the League of Improbable Gentlemen.
Justin just can’t get used to it. He crouches there in the shadows, watching as the League meet.
Hastings Vernal told him to hide in this off shoot hallway and just wait for his signal.
He can see and hear everything going on in the big meeting room. He peeks in, just out of eyesight from the others.
The same members are gathered in the meeting room. Sir Mumphrey is sitting next to Hagatha Darkness, just like before. On the other side of the table is Dr Hakenfakir. Phineas Quimby is sitting down next to him. Colonel Blanchford Bertram is at the head of the table and Hastings Vernal is still opposite of the Colonel. Standing against a bookshelf in the corner is U.S. Secret Service Agent Tom Stevens, a young man in his thirties with a western cowboy hat and a duster jacket. He has sandy blonde hair and looks relaxed, holding his Smith and Weston rifle. This young man looks out of place and if Justin remembers correctly, he was invited here by Bertram to help the League out. Some of the members didn’t like that.
Sitting on the other side of Quimby is Justin himself.
Our Justin, the one we’ve been following all this time, still can’t get over watching himself. “There I am. From my perspective I was just here, in that chair. Listening to them argue about Stevens. In a couple of minutes they will list the clues they found. Then the Ghost Pirates, undead creatures and the Sea Witch will break through that big window, charge in and fight the League. I’ll hide behind that tapestry over there until everyone is killed. Then Vernal will tell me to flee and save them. From that point I took an adventure crossing three time periods, facing pirates, sneaking in Virgil Salvage’s secret chamber, confronting a mad scientist and then Salvage himself. Finally I got this Plot Accelerator and returned a little while before my departure. So theoretically that Justin in that chair will go through it all over again. Except during my travels I changed the course of history. There will be no Ghost Pirates, undead creatures or Sea Witch. How will that change everything?”

The meeting begins and Justin’s attention is drawn to it.
“Well everyone,” Bertram begins, “with the Case of the Incendiary Squid finally over we can concentrate on the resent activity on Flanagan Island. Does everyone here remember the clues we found?”
Justin (ours) thinks to himself, “Wait! There were break-ins at the local museums! What happened to those?”
Dr Hakenfakir begins, “Well, I recall the mysterious lights in the sky those nights.”
“And don’t forget the eerie reports of spacemen dear chap.” Mumphrey chimes in.
Hagatha Darkness doesn’t say anything but she eyes the hallway where the newer Justin sits in the shadows. She glances at Hastings Vernal but he doesn’t act like he notices.
“Sheeoot. I recon I’ll never ferget the report my buddy Huck gave of that night.” Agent Stevens speaks up. Everyone but Bertram looks at him funny, realizing for the first time that he’s there.
“And who, sir, are you?” Mumphrey challenges.
The man thrusts out his hand, “U.S. Secret Service agent Tom Stevens at your service.” Mumph shakes his hand. “My childhood friend and partner, Huck Harris, was on duty that night. He got these reports on the lights in the sky and the figures on the island and went to check it out. He’s out of town on a different case right now. Colonel Bertram found him at th’ scene and they compared notes. Huck was almost hurt really bad by those strange spacemen. I’d like t’ find them who tried to do that t’ Huck and give ‘em some justice.”
Our Justin is floored. He ponders, “So similar but different! Steven’s friend was in a coma before, now he’s not! No severed arm and no eerie fog at sea either. Must be the absence of the pirates.”
“The League is not about vengeance young man.” Hagatha snorts at Tom.
“I know that, but I’ve heard about the fine adventures you all had an’ I think I can help.”
Bertram speaks up, “I asked Stevens here. I think our group can use some new blood.”
“By Jove! He’s so brash he’ll get himself and the rest of us killed.” Mumph objects.
“I beg yer pardon mister Wilton but I c’n do it. Ever since my youth as a kid on the Mighty Mississippi I’ve faced danger an’ came up smellin’ like roses. Maybe back in England they don’t give a guy a chance but this here’s America and we believe everybody’s got a chance!”
Dr Hakenfakir speaks up, “Simmer down child. We are not questioning your patriotism.”
“Child?” Tom breaths in anger.
As Justin listens in to this argument for the second time he feels his timer buzz. “What in the cosmos is making it..?”
The timer starts to go crazy. “It’s messing up! It’s going to go off!” Justin thinks in a panic. “I can’t leave this era yet! Salvage could still kill the League. It’s almost like someone is trying to call the timer to another era but that’s impossible!”
It sputters a moment. Justin tries frantically to hide deeper down the hall. He hears Hastings Vernal speak up, “Gentlemen and lady. This young man’s gun might be helpful in the coming minutes.”
“Crap!” Justin thinks while desperately trying to shut his timer off, “Any minute Salvage will be here! What’s doing this?”

3205 AD
“We’re getting him! He’s almost here!” Von exclaims. A ghostly image starts to appear of a man crouching down.
“Come on! Come on!” Visionary 5 urges the machines.

1877 AD
Justin finds himself starting to fade away, “NO! I can’t leave yet!”
Hastings Vernal looks at the Justin sitting at the table, “If only we had more information regarding the missing machinery, maybe our fates could be altered.”
“Excuse me, but who is in the hall?” Miss Darkness asks.
Justin becomes solidified once more as the timer finally quiets.
Everyone but Vernal starts to get up but before they can look the big picture window shatters.
SCCRRAAASSSHHH! TINKLE! TINKLE!
Everyone’s attention is drawn away from the darkened hall to the face of one of their oldest foes as he, surrounded by strange looking frog men, strides forth into the meeting room.
Our Justin thinks, “I don’t know what that was but it’s passed.

3205 AD
“What the Shock do you mean we lost him?” Vish 5 rants.
“It’s the Chronic Waves of time-force! It took almost everything we had and we still couldn’t get him here!”
“Boost the power! Let’s use the full power of the Institute to improve the device’s reach to get a better grab. We’ve got to get him here! Only his skill can help me invent the machines needed to hold back this chronal storm!”
“But Vish! If we use that much power, we run a bigger risk of loosing him at chronal reentry! We would certainly pull him from whatever era the lock has him at, but I can’t guarantee he’ll appear in this timeline!”
SCCRRAAASSSHHH! TINKLE! TINKLE!
Plexiglas flies everywhere as the two teen scientists cover their faces. The weather has gotten worse here in the 33rd Century despite the Weather Control Service. Vish 5 is certain the crazy weather and strange skies are tied to the chronal storm.
Vish picks himself up and looks determined at Von, “Do it anyway!”

1877 AD
Justin (in the hall) just left Virgil Salvage back in 1781. He’s amazed that the man looks no different almost a hundred years later.
“The League of Improbable Gentlemen. I should have killed your little group back when it was barley formed.” Salvage sneers.
“Like you had the chance!” a British voice replies from Colonel Blanchford Bertram’s waist. Both Justin’s realize it must be Knifie, the sentient talking weapon that the ex-Civil War soldier carries with him.
“Knifie? You’re still with this fool? Fine, I’ll take you for myself after the Z’Socks have killed him. League, I demand that you give up my Plot Accelerator now and I will make your deaths quick.”
“I did not cower to your demands last time we met, and I won’t do so now you savage blighter.”
“Mumphrey! Language!” Hagatha snaps.
Salvage grins, “Do not be too hard on him madam. Mumphrey Wilton and I didn’t see eye to eye at our meeting. I’m not surprised fools like this group would let him in.” Before they can respond he moves a step closer to Justin (the one standing with the League, not the one in the hall) and says, “Justin Tyme! Man of tomorrow AND yesterday! You’re of course the real reason for my visit. You stole something from me Justin. Back in 1781. I want to thank you for that.”
The Justin that stands with the League wonders to himself if this is another result of his trips through time. He asks, “Virgil Salvage! The last time I saw you was in 1204 AD. You killed two good knights and imprisoned Lady Lisette Waltshire and myself. You claimed we met before and wanted to steal my timer.”
“All true. And I vowed after you left that time, to wait until your return. You DID return many times and a couple of those times I tried again to steal your wondrous device. Each time though you prevented me! Then in 1664 a space ship from the heavens crashed on a remote island. These here are my friends, the Z’Socks. They are a race of intergalactic assassins. The device that powered their ship fell into my hands. It’s called the Plot Accelerator. I became obsessed with it! Once it was in my possession I thought of little else. It affected my brain and caused me to forget about you and that timer of yours. That’s why I didn’t remember you during our meeting at Castle Frankenburger in the year of 1781. But once you took the Plot Accelerator from me and fled to this year, I remembered my long feud with you and my desire for your time device!”
“But I’ve never BEEN to 1781.”
“YES YOU DID! You and Lucius Faust! And I remember all of it! Now, hand over my Plot Accelerator AND your time machine or my partners, the Z’Socks, will kill everyone here!”
“You can try Barbarian, but you won’t succeed!” Colonel Bertram draws Knifie. The sound of a Smith and Weston rifle clicks back. Dr Hakenfakir’s cane stars to glow.
“Wait!” Salvage calls out, “I have a bond with the Accelerator. I DO since it here! But Tyme is right! He never touched it. It’s in that hallway! This Tyme isn’t the right one!”
Some people start to glance at the darkened hallway while others stare at Justin (the one amidst the group) in confusion.
Hastings Vernal is the only one not confused as he grabs Justin (the perplexed one standing among the group) by the shoulder and whispers clearly in his ear, “You must now travel to the year 1668. The improvements made by Quimby will get you there. Events will shortly transpire to alter history severely if you do not! You know it’s not right. Find out why.”
“What’s not right?”
“Do not wait to find out! GO!”
Justin pressed the Activate button. The year 1668 flashes. In a flash he’s gone.
It’s a good thing too because two Z’Socks come out of the hallway with Justin held fast in their arms.
One of the Z’Socks hands the Plot Accelerator to Salvage.
“Hey! You just left!” Quimby comments with excitement, “I just love the idea of time travel!”
Hagatha scoffs, “I knew he was there all along. I just didn’t know what Vernal was planning.”
Sir Mumphrey nods. He knew as well, but didn’t see the need to bring it up, “Well then, let’s trounce these blighters!”

The Spaced Fandom creeps towards his masters main control center. Everything is absolute blackness. Only four screens are visible. Each one is displaying a different event.
The first one shows Amazing Guy flying home to LittleSmallville. The second shows Jackie Roberts introducing her long lost brother to her friends at her job. The third shows Swift speeding out of the Oregon woods and the fourth shows Justin watching as Virgil Salvage gets his Plot Accelerator.
“M..master? You you you needed to see see me?”
“Spaced Fandom. Do you see these four men?”
He’s uncertain, but he replies anyway, “Y..yes master?”
“Amazing Guy, Jack Rabbit, Swift and Justin Tyme. Four obstacles. I know that one day at least one of these men will stop my plans. The future is uncertain so I am unsure which one it is.”
The Spaced Fandom nods.
“I have.. other processes in motion to deal with Brunsen, Roberts and Swiftman. But Tyme, he’s the joker in the deck. I need an assassin who could be anyone, anywhere. YOU, Spaced Fandom, can be that assassin.”
“You want me to kill ..ill..ill Tyme Master?”
“It is what I created you for.”
“But..ut..ut Master. What about his appearances during the old world and the American Revolution? Those are just two of the documented times when his older self appeared. If I kill THAT younger Tyme, he won’t be there for those events. Master, he won’t get the Sundial from the 33rd Century and have it stolen in the old world. Then Swift would never have been stuck..”
“FOOL! INSOLENT WHELP! Do you presume to think I do not know the tangled web the creators of the Parodyverse set up? I care nothing for their plans for Swift! Or Roberts, Brunsen, Tyme or any other agents sent to stop me! I want you to kill Tyme!”
The Spaced Fandom shivers on the floor, prostrate and scared to death, “Y..yes m..massster! Space Fandom will..ill..ill be good! Don’t hurt him Massster!”
“Wretch. Get off the floor! You’re regressing again. CONTROL YOURSELF! Now, at the present timeline Tyme is surrounded by Wilton, Vernal and Darkness. They would know in a second of your agenda. Wait with me. When he proceeds to the next era, which will probably be those curse Legionaries time, go in and ready yourself. Tyme must die in his next time period! My Crisis is too close to let any fool fail me!”
“Yesss master..er..er.”

“Uhh!” Justin moans as his mind is assaulted. Suddenly his memories flash into his head. Images of Virgil Salvage talking to them, of Hastings Vernal talking to him, of activating his timer then arriving on the ship. Those pirates killed Vanessa Bastion. More memories. Events storm his mind, at first things were different but then once he arrived on that ship, things were the way he remembered them.
“What’s wrong Tyme? Realized I’ve finally won?” Salvage taunts.
Justin thinks, “I remember the Ghost Pirates, Sea Witch and creatures killing the League, but I also remember it was Salvage and these aliens that came in instead of those things. Strange!”
“Tyme! Pay attention!”
Justin becomes aware of the here and now.
All around the meeting room there’s still violence. This time though the outcome is different.
Miss Darkness casts spells that entangle several Z’Socks in magical bindings. Mumphrey uses his pocket watch to stop many, and then aims their weapons against each other in the tics of a second. Dr Hakenfakir vaporizes more weapons with his cane, knocking aliens down in the process. Blanchford is in the middle of it all slicing at his foes with Knifie. Quimby is using a colorful gadget to solidify the air around the Z’Socks, trapping them. Agent Stevens tries successfully to blow away a rather large atomic ray gun from a Z’Socks’ arm.
Hastings Vernal just sits down and watches calmly.
“What planet do you creatures come from?” Quimby asks as he immobilizes a Z’Socks assassin. The creature doesn’t reply.
“Don’t question them about their origins! Just fight!” Hakenfakir yells while trying to blast away more charging aliens.
Justin sees what appears to be some kind of alien weapon that a few Z’Socks are setting up at the far end of the room.
Justin can tell from this that someone should tell the members, quickly.
Miss Darkness is so occupied she doesn’t see the aliens aim this new weapon at her, that is until the gunfire from Stevens’ weapon blows the weapon to pieces.
“My thanks young man.” She says.
“Shucks. Twernt nuthin.”
Sir Mumphrey sees this and comments, “It was something. Maybe your quick gun WILL lend a hand after all.”
“Thanks Sir! Ah take that as a compliment. Ah’m jus’ glad to help famous heroes like y’self!”
“Let him go.” Salvage says to the two Z’Socks holding Justin. He seems oblivious of the League’s successes.
“Justin, you don’t get it, do you? This device has the power to make any situation happen. No matter how weird or strange, it can come true at the command of whoever controls it! I read those documents you stole.”
“Oh crap!” Justin thinks to himself. He feels for the documents but they’re not in his vest pocket. He’s still wearing the period clothes Gulliver Wilton gave him and he can’t find the documents he stole from Salvage’s hidden lair. Then he spies Vernal, still sitting down at the table, comfortably, reading them. “He must’ve taken them from me some how. Fine. He’s welcome to them.” Justin thinks.
“See Justin, this Plot Accelerator actually has a living soul within it. You look like I’m crazy. Let me explain. Far from here there is a planet peopled by a race called the Xnylonians. A long time ago they actually managed to capture and destroy a Chronicler of Stories, and trap a fragment of his dying spirit and power inside one of their concept machines. Ah, that’s right. You don’t know what a Chronicler is or what a concept machines is either. I won’t go into it now, but let’s just say they grabbed a very powerful being and put all that he/she/whatever was and stuffed it into a machine that could harness its power. That's why the Plot Accelerator can do weird things like make sure the person using it, i.e. me, always wins! And that’s what I shall do. There’s another thing those documents told me. In the 1600s there was a Chronicler too. He or she arranged for the Z'Nox ship carrying it crash on Flannagan's Isle. That Chronicler wanted to destroy the device and set the spirit trapped inside free. But instead, for some strange luck, it survived long enough for the pirate crew I hired to find it and bring it to me!”
“How can those documents state all this? How would their writer know this? Who WAS the writer?”
“I’m afraid I do not know. One day they were mysteriously there, in my secret lair. I only had them long enough to read them. But that does not matter! I know how to use this and I shall! I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time! Hand over your time traveling device future man.” Salvage points the Plot Accelerator at Justin. “Hand it over or I will use this on you.”
Justin quickly glances around. The League of Improbable Gentlemen is each occupied with their own threats. He can hear Colonel Blanchford Bertram boast to the Z'Socks, “You pose no threat. Back during the "Martian" invasion of the Mynadrine Host back in the ‘60s we had it much worse! Those aliens even wiped out Dr. Hopkins team. Those &*^#! Were much harder to beat then you.”
Justin thinks, “Maybe that’s true, but after Salvage kills me, it’s not going to matter anyway!”
KAPOW!
A bullet rips through Salvage’s left hand causing him to drop the Plot Accelerator, “GAHHUCK!”
“I dunno whut that there wuz, but I ain’t letting you use it on that guy!” a voice rings out.
Justin turns around to see a brown haired man in his late twenties with a gun, smiling at him, “You ok stranger?”
Agent Tom Stevens shouts, “Huck! I knew you’d join us!”
Huck replies, “Hey, I couldn’t stay away fer too long!”
“Great.” Hagatha Darkness replies as the last Z'Socks falls to the ground, “As if one hick wasn’t enough. Now I suppose we’ll have to let you in too?”
“Ma’am, I’m just lendin a hand. I’ve got no interest in joinin your group. That’s Tom’s thing.”
Justin looks back at Salvage. He’s furious. Sir Mumphrey Wilton is holding him in place (how did he cross the room so fast?) and Salvage is looking at the device in earnest.
Justin picks it up.

3205 AD, the Professor Justin Tyme Institute For Higher Learning and Chronal Studies in New Paradopolis.
“We have a lock again! Are you sure you want me to do this Vishy?”
“Don’t call me that! I hate it when the Legion calls me that! YES! Activate Von! Activate!”

1877 AD, Lair Island, the mansion HQ of the League of Improbable Gentlemen.

Justin points the machine at Virgil Salvage and simply says, “Virgil Salvage, go away and don’t look for the Plot Accelerator again.”
CRASH!
The strange looking Cheshire Cat breaks free from its glass case, grabs Salvage and takes him through a portal to parts unknown.”
Justin, in shock, drops the Plot Accelerator and Mumph grabs it.
“What happened? That big purple cat! Why did it do that?” Justin says in bewilderment.
“Salvage explained it to you.” Hastings Vernal explained, “The device can make any strange plot twist occur. That’s one of the most unexpected things that could happen so it DID happen.”
“I bagged that annoying creature myself.” Blanchford states with disappointment, “During the Wonderland expedition. Now I suppose I’ll have to return there and do it again.”
“Leave Wonderland’s secrets to Wonderland. I for one have had enough of Salvage and his infernal campaigns.” Hagatha replies.
“Yes! Good riddance!” Knifie agrees.
“We have not seen the last of Salvage, but this case in indeed concluded.” Hastings adds.
“What now Justin? Are you going to finally return home?” Phineas Quimby asks their friend.
“Well. I suppose so!” his timer starts to buzz like mad. “There it is again! It’s acting up! I think the homing device you added on is acting up Professor Quimby. It feels like it’s pulling me away!”
“It wouldn’t do that Justin. There must be something else acting on it.”
“Something else? What do…”
Justin vanishes.

The nameless ruins in the devastated New Paradopolis, 3205 AD

“…you mean Professor Quimby?” Justin finishes his statement to the early inventor but he’s no longer in that period to get an answer.
KAABOOM! ZAAARRRRKK! THHRRASH!
He stars around in shock. Alien war ships are blasting the city to pieces. There are strange scaly reptilian simians marching through the streets. He ducks behind a broken wall.
“Who are you? In the name of the Guild of the Galactic, identify your self!” a commanding voice speaks.
“I’m Justin Tyme! Where am I?” Justin looks at the timer and reads the year.
“You’re on Earth human. How did you escape the Baboon Camps? Are you a spy?” the woman with grey skin and hair made of fire asks.
Standing before him is six individuals. A man in a skin tight Enviro-Suit, a large man in orange with a star on his head, a fake man made of jewels, a glowing blue man/woman with a big red fin and a funny looking bow and arrows, the woman with the hair of fire and a mysterious man in blue and yellow.
Justin responds, “I’m a time traveler from.. er.. your past. Something pulled me here.. but this isn’t right. There shouldn’t be an alien occupation! The Earth is part of the United Systems. It’s a time of peace. The Lair Legion of Super Heroes protects Earth from these kinds of things!”
The big, wide guy says with a jovial grin, “Aw, they messed him up pretty good! Poor little fella! He’s delusional”
“Billy 22 you are too trusting. He could still be a spy.” The scratchy voice of the jewel creature with the yellow diamond states blandly.
“And you Vistinex, are to distrusting.” The man in the Enviro-suit interjects. It was he who commanded Justin to identify himself. He’s clearly in charge.
The aggressive woman with the fiery hair and a dancing leotard responds, “Vince, Vistinex might be right though. We don’t really know if this stranger is who he says he is.”
The blue male/female creature says, “Very true Cute Dikki. Yo-du trusts him though! Cute stranger be having friendly face!”
“Alright, alright. Starsparrow, will you confirm his identity?” the one called Vince asked the mysterious man in blue.
When Starsparrow speaks it sounds like galaxy’s swirling, “Yes Vince Cosmo, he is indeed Justin Tyme. He comes from the year 2462 AD and he is lost in our time. He is speaking the truth about his origin. Except the word of the One Who Has A Good Guess.”
“Well then Mr. Tyme, welcome to Earth! The Guild of the Galactic could use a new member to help fight off the Baboon invasion!”
“Oh boy.” Justin says with dread.

Return of the Living Dead Footnotes!

To explain the Z’Socks I must first quote Ian Watson in his helpful notes to me;
“The Z'Nox was a set of aliens from X-Men (around #68 I believe, the very last issue before the series was cancelled and went to reprint). They were reptilian and organized, looking rather more like frogs than the lizardish Badoon, and with larger heads than the terrible Toad Men. Professor Xavier knew they were coming and needed some time to organize a psyoned defense against them, so he had Mimic take his place and went into seclusion. Mimic died in one of the X-Men's adventures - before the Z'Nox arrived - and the X-men thought it really was Xavier. Charles returned only in the last issue in the series, when he literally linked the minds of every person on Earth to psi-blast the Z'Nox out of the solar system. We've seen the Z'Nox a couple of times since, in minor roles, and they have never, ever in their entire comics’ history done anything interesting.”
“The Z'Sox is the Parodyverse version of the same, and I've mentioned them a few times but we've never seen them much. I guess like their comics template they are a deadly dull race of generic world-conquerors. Funnily, I think the Z'Sox actually appear in UT#149 as villains for the first time battling the Librarian. They're a race of assassins rather than warriors - think militaristic ninja frogs.”
In the other parts they were referred to by their Marvel counter parts names, “Z'Nox”. That is an error that I’ll correct as soon as I can. Their true names are either “Z’Socks” or “Z'Sox”. Either has shown up in stories and either is fine. It’s just a pronunciation thing. Those alien races have very difficult names to pronounce.

Virgil Salvage’s obsession with Justin’s timer was shown in Tyme Travels # 7, Justin’s first meeting with him, but not his first meeting with Justin.

In 1863 two twelve year old boys lived by the mighty Mississippi and were full of misadventure, Tom Stevens and Francis "Huckleberry" Harris helped runaway slaves escape to the Underground Railroad and stopped the evil murderer Injun Floyd. They eventually grew up and became U.S. Secret Service Agents. They were 12 in 1863 and 26 in 1877. When they were boys they never wore shoes. They do now, reluctantly.

Justin knows about life in the 33rd Century because he wound up dropping the time lost Legionnaire Phantom Ghost Girl there. You can see this in Tyme Travels # 9

Next time;
What happened to the Lair Legion of Super Heroes time? How will Visionary 5 be able to retrieve Justin if Vish doesn’t even exist? Can Justin help the Guild of the Galactic? Tune in next time!
